BSNL Broadband ( Dataone ) is a fairly reliable and good service. Their speeds are genuine and not "fixed". Quite a few service providers fool customers by not giving genuine service but its not the case here ( actually local players do mischief when other players not around or reached there ). BSNL has easy access to most households as the cabling is already there and no new woring need be done externally. Internally also limited cabling has to be done extra.
BSNL "downtime" when service is down is very low. This is a big plus point for them as the biggest problem that bogs down a service provider in this industry is the down time. BSNL support is also decent ( you actually dont need it as the service does not go down ). Infact even during the rains, we dont see the connection stop because the jelly filled cables being used by BSNL are taking care of it. I have been using BSNL since its 1st month of operation and am a happy customer.
Infact prior to that I was using their similar service called DIAS which offered 128 kbps ( exactly half of starting level of broadband ) and that was good too. That was an indeginous product of BSNL. I am on Dataone 900 UL plan so my speed is fixed at 256 kbps but I am told that other plans have higher speeds as well. I would surely wait for the time 900UL subscribers are given 512 kbps speed which should be made the base level.
