Mmmmmm...mmmmm.....eyes closed to savour the exquisite taste of pure chocolate ....mmmmm....MAGIC!!
Brittania pure magic delivers what it promises - pure unadulterated flavour of the biscuit!!
Its impossible to survive in hostel without keeping goodies in your cupboard (ofcourse, its besides the point that they dont remain in the cupboard for too long)....and the most cost efficient and long lasting snacks are BISCUITS!!
Being a bourbon loyalist, I was really upset at finding it 'out of stock' in the only kirana store near the campus...the stubborn customer that I am, I refused to buy anything else except 'proper chocolate biskut'....like a magician, he took out a purple coloured biscuit packet from the depths of the small shop and requested me to try it...'pure magic' ben, try it!!Hmm...yup remember the ads (well ofcourse, what else do you expect from a communications student!!)...black and white and some 'pure temptation' kind of punchline...ok, so I took it back to the room and opened it...one bite and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........!!!!
picture this : 2 deep brown circular chocolatey -cocoa tasting biscuits with one slab of rich chocolate-cocoa in between them....though the packaging says that there is sugar and milk in there somewhere, where exactly I have no clue!!! Been munching (or rather gorging) on this for the past year and have only tasted yummy tasty bitter-ish chocolate!!!
Just recently Brittania has launched vanilla, pineapple and orange pure magic biscuits....though I am strictly chocolate biscuit eater types, I did have one of the 'JIM JAMS' ones...two biscuits with some frozen kind of jam in between them...it was surprisingly good...and is a huge hit with fellow hostelians....out of the above mentioned, only vanilla manages to sell decently...(though I must mention that the kirana store has now started stocking chips and monacos too...so there might be a trade off here)...didnt really care much for the pineapple and haven't tried the orange!!!
Pure Magic has also now introduced itself in a 'newer' form - that of premium butterscoth and chocolate chip cookies!! Now that's worth...or rather taste..a mention!!
Its been around 5 months since we finished the cookies and I still have the box..or rather the container...silver metal and round, with pure magic written in rich purple, its beautiful...oh sorry, the biscuits..lolz...well, nothing special about them...ordinary cookies ..most of them melt in your mouth and are in consonance with the Pure Magic equity of 'pure taste of the flavour' ...you definitely get a strong hint of the chocolate and bits of chips in your mouth or a taste of coconut or caramel...
However, if you are health conscious, you won't enjoy this too much..Brittania, to get the 'essence of the flavour'..has used a little too much of butter or vegetable oils or whatever they use...the girls took one smell and refused to eat them ( watch your figure dear!!) ..The guys hogged!!!....
The cookies container was priced at around Rs.200 during diwali. The ordinary pure magic biscuits cost Rs 13 for 100 grams.
Ofcourse, since I have the responsibility of writing a review and voicing my opinion on MS, I do think its most important that I get my facts right and be very honest ..after all, some members might just try these biscuits after reading my review!!! I have to be sure of what I say...so lemme doublecheck whether my memories of the biscuit I had during tea today still hold true....here goes...one biscuit packet opened...a velvety rich dark delicious chocolate biscuit in my hand....in my mouth....
mmmmmmmm....mmmmmm....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
