Boys was very much expected movie, since it was from shankar and apart from
it shankar went on giving interviews on all tv channels saying that, the movie
is a different and very realistic etc etc , technology used is great etc etc .
Finally I saw the movie today I did not get a head ache but definitely felt the movie
was not good also. Ok the fact it is a time pass movie.

Now the story is about how 5 guys plan to do something, do something and comeup.
I heard press reports saying that this was supposed to get released last april
but did not because thulvathoillami ( Dhanush starrer), Five star( which I felt was the best among all the releases during that period). were also being
released and story sounds similar.
This movie begins by showing our teens typically doing some nonsense , atleast according to our movies like boozing , jollufying at any woman irrespective of their age , etc etc etc I started getting slightly irritated, then a song commences, Girl Friend, picturization and choreography was excellent I really enjoyed the song.
Then our heroine gets introduced , all the 5 guys want to impress her, but she is
a kind who would prefer taking some guy for a ride provided they are interested in one. She would have taken one guy for a ride, ie in terms of joining him to a resturant and the bill would be too high, etc etc,
then the movie continues, like this, when one day one this guy who has been taken for a ride, comes back to harass her, then she runs to our 5 heroes and asks them
to rescue. You know our heroes obviously will rescue her by thrashing the guy
in a funny looking fight. The movie goes on
They ask her a party for rescuing her , she agrees one of the guy ie munna (siddarth) falls in love with her , he tells her he has strong sincere love
etc., obviously she has to refuse for the first time, according to our movies and
then she accepts.
Our movie makers are really very innovative especially in creating situations
when a guy or a girl falls in love with other. This movie is different because
it introduces something called '' bare jail love'' . Watch the movie to understand
what it is. Typically after someone has fallen in love, their parents have to oppose
according to our movies atleast. This happens in the movie, so they decide to run
away to Thirupati, I really dont know why so far. they get married in the way they get caught. Then 5 guys and the girl decide to get away from their house, and vivek
who is a kind of god father to them, helps them out liberally by giving money and all, in this realistic shankar movie
Then of course they compere songs for some dead body etc etc, naxalites and get arrested under POTA. Then there are some sick jail scenes etc etc, may be give realistic touch Finally them come out the jail and find themselves out of the college because they are now antinationals etc etc. They decide to form their own rock band they idea would be given one of the guy, So they go SONY MUSIC, whether to advertise sony music or make an album for them I dont know. But anyway, they create an album it becomes a hit and finally all thier parents etc etc are all happy.
In between these things, the hero and heroine would develop misunderstanding due to some of the hero and his friends past adventures where they would bring some call girl to their house, and start talking intellectual stuff, saying what is right or wrong etc, with her. So heroine applies for divorce, hero also has to apply for divorce since he is interested in getting the album released.
There is one of the guys, who actually proposed the idea of they starting a band
dying under a bus, because suddenly the director decided so. so he dies. So we have to see the second dead body in the movie, the first one where they composed the song for etc etc.
The pop group wins the MTV awards, good advertising MTV, and then, the divorce proceedings begins in the funny looking family court, and after some terrific
confusion movie ends when the hero and heroine meet and the movie ends.
Believe me, I have tried to put in in some kind of a structure for this amoeba kind of a story.
Now whenever I go to a shankar or mani's movies I usually go in with a lot of expectations especially.
A decent story.
Good technical aspects.
Some refinement in depicting situations
In this I see only good technical aspects alone, Ravi K Chandran picturization
was excellent, he is becoming as good a name as P C Sreeram, raju sundaram's choreography was excellent, good, these and all are good, but where is story Mr.Shankar. It also seems to have ran away.
Song sequences are excellent. I dont why Mr.Shankar copies song sequences from
Michael Jackson, remember the mudhalvan's song, now this marro marro,from
''They dont really care about us''.
Now speaking
There are plenty of very crude scenes in the movie which I felt is
absolutely unnecessary. may be he has included all these to APPEAL TO ALL SECTIONS OF THE SOCIETY
Now coming to A R Rehman's music, believe some songs may sound great, but one thing is true, he has slaughtered all the lyrics in the worst possible way. It is fact
that for a movie to succeed, even a lyricist has got a good amount of job to do.
I really had mixed feeling about AR Rehmans music for this album from day1 the
album got released. Although there was a lot of media hype saying they were selling like hot cakes cold cakes etc.
So final comments are , watch the movie for time pass, be prepared so see some sick scenes, excellent picturized songs, scrap loose story,some humourous moments especially mariamma, see the movie you will understand.. Overall the movie will be time pass movie.
