I had the most pathetic experience and I have no idea why people come up with ideas to start a company and later can’t even provide sustainable service. They forget the company is running because of consumers and even one bad experience can be a big toll.
I recently took a maid service from a #startup called BookMyBai.com. Honestly, didn’t know the kind of experience it will unfold. I lived nightmares. They introduced me to quite a few helpers, out of which I liked one girl. They said to book the girl they need one month's salary plus GST. I told them to let me first experience the person, how do I know if she would fit in but they pressurised me to make the payment.
I told them that I will make a partial payment and rest once the girl reaches my place. They agreed on it. Next day after multiple follow ups the girl reached my place at 6 PM, she was dropped by a male coordinator. I asked him for the contract documents and background verification details. He said background verification is done ma’am and the contract copy you will receive in your email. In front of him, I discussed the leave policy with girl (I am sure that’s not unusual). And the coordinator said she has been explained all those terms and they will not be taking any leaves before 2 months. On the same day, I also got to know that the company is giving out helpers with no vaccination certificate.
On the same day, her family members started calling me from different numbers to talk to her as she didn’t have phone. I didn’t mind that but then this became a practice and she used to use my phone a lot.
One day her sister called and asked us to send her home (it was just 15 days since she joined) we denied but upon her insistence, we brushed it off stating we will think about it and let her know. After that, we got busy in our respective work. I got busy with my 5 month old and my husband with his office work; calling her wasn’t our priority hence we forgot it. Couple of days later her sister calls us and abuse us; also that she will make sure the helper won’t work here and that she will take action against us. We informed the #startup people they also couldn’t make her sister understand and father suggested us if the helper wants to work there then you let her do it and don’t pick up the family’s phone. After few days we helped her get a new phone and number then we never got any call.
Again after a month from that incident her sister again asked her to come back home which we denied. Now this time she made it so ugly her husband started abusing my husband and they came to our society at 11:30 PM; started threatening us and created ruckus. We went to cops and cops scolded us too because we didn’t have background verification letter. Somehow that night passed and we let that helper leave.
I am glad I made their life hell and got my refund back. And I am thankful that we involved cops. This company should shut down immediately.
