I cannot say with confidence that this is a good bank to bank with, as, being in the cooperative sector, it has failed to move with the times. Can you believe that this bank has no phone banking, no ATMs, no internet site, and no other online services?
Even so, my association with the bank is as old as 40 years, or even more. My father had a minor account with it when I was a child, and on reaching majority, I have continued to have a relationship with it in many different ways, like maintaining savings accounts and deposits, having a current account with it, and also taking loans from it for various purposes in life, such as to buy an office for my clinic, to meet educational or other needs of the family, and so on.
The plus points of this relationship(which, by the way, is re-inforced through the medium of us holding shares of the bank - these are coop shares and not listed on stock exchanges - a necessity for anyone desirous of taking loans from them) are -
- a friendly relationship with the tellers and the officers- they help you out with extra check books if you need them- they call you up if the balance in your account is not sufficient for a check presented to them- they invite you to join them at the AGM's and even serve lunch and so on
The negatives are the ones I already listed: no progression with the new banking measures.
