Really the master of bluff... Review on Bluff Master - Bollywood

here is a movie that promises to release you from a mundane life of truth and practicality. Here is a movie that shows what movie making is truly all about - a story well told - nothing more, nothing less.

The synopsis of the movie is as follows:

Roy(AB jr) is a master of bluff. He can fool an apple into thinking that it is a banana. And he does it with a sophistication that the tomato next door won't even realise that it was he who was responsible for the apple banana transformation.

He is happy with his lifestyle.

However, there is 1 truth in his life - Simmi (Priyanka Chopra) is your everyday honest hardworking 9-5 employee who is the tomato in the previous eg. And coincidentally she is also the girlfriend of the bluffmaster.

When Roy proposes to her in one of the most romantic sequences in the movie, she is swept off her feet and aggrees to marry him. However, life is not always roses. The thorns come to prick her on the wedding day itself when she realises that her prince in shining armour is actually a pauper. The wedding is called off, Roy returns to his bluffing and Priyanka to her 9-5 job.

Now enters the cool dude with the sorry look face - Dittu (Ritesh). He is exactly the opposite of what Roy is. He is bumbling, jumping around, messy and confused. However the one thing in which he is similar to Roy is his profession - he too is a bluff slave. Circumstances force them to meet and Dittu realises that Roy is the perfect 'Guru' for him. He forces Roy to become his Guru and teach him the tricks of the trade. Guru and Shishya are rocking mumbai and enjoying life when you have another twist - Roy has a tumour in his brain which can end his life in 3 months..sob sob sob. He being the true macho man, does not reveal it to Dittu.

When Dittu introduces Roy to his dad (who has longterm amnesia to an extent that he does not even recognise his own son), Roy suddenly has a purpose in life - to gain revenge for the sake of Dittu from the ultimate con-man Chandru (Nana).

Chandru is the sum of Dittu and Roy. he has an empire built on treachery and bluff. He is the stylish entrepreneur with witty one liners. He is the King bluff master.

So now the challenge for Roy and Dittu is to get the better of the best in their business. In the meanwhile, Simmi is happily engaged to another sweet 9-5 job guy (cho chweet ... :) ) so that door is closed for Roy.

When Chandru finds out the true identity of the 2 conmen, he kidnaps Simmi as he knows that Roy still has a soft spot for her.

What happens after this is the real twist,thriller,push that takes the movie to a different level. Without revealing the climax, I can assure you that it will have you thinking!

So go ahead, enjoy all the bluffs and figure out for yourself who is the master!!!

In terms of performances , I would rank them in the following order:

1) Nana Patekar - absolutely brilliant - evokes fear as well as laughs, an amazing performance.

2) Ab Jr - is all what Roy should be - suave, intelligent, composed and mature

3) Ritesh - another perfect casting - his dumb look fits his role perfectly

4) Priyanka Chopra - does not have a huge role - still , plays her part very well.

5) Boman - he plays the philosopher and the comedian brilliantly.
