I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I have received from Blinkit(Order IDs: ORD496598762 and ORD543402266). I want to make it abundantly clear that this experience has been beyond frustrating and absolutely unacceptable.
Here is a breakdown of my complaint:
Initial Order Cancellation: I placed an order for a mug worth Rs. 484(Order ID: ORD496598762) and paid via UPI. Shortly after, I decided to cancel the order as I found the product cheaper on another platform. However, your platform's automated bot is a nightmare to navigate, making it impossible to connect with human support. I had to contact the delivery partner to initiate a cancellation request. Your customer service representative called me, but shockingly, she didn't even bother listening to the full conversation and hung up after quickly confirming the cancellation. She promised I would receive the refund back in 3 to 5 working days.
Instead of a refund, I was given a worthless coupon of Rs. 484, which I did not ask for. Your representative either lied or was completely ignorant, as I was expecting the money back in my source account, not a coupon with a 30-day expiry.
Rude and Contradictory Customer Support: When I reached out via chat again, I encountered a representative named Riya, who was not only rude but contradicted herself throughout the conversation. First, she said refunds are possible depending on the situation, but then claimed Blinkit's policy is to only issue coupons. When I demanded to speak to a senior supervisor, she flatly refused, further compounding the frustration.
Handling Charge Scam: Upon using the coupon to place a second order(Order ID: ORD543402266), I was again charged a Rs. 4 handling fee. This was the same amount charged in my first order. So let's break this down:
First order: Rs. 480 for the item, Rs. 4 for handling.
Instead of a refund, I received a coupon for Rs. 484, but when I used it for the second order, Blinkit deducted Rs. 4 as a handling fee again and forced me to pay another Rs. 4, making the total amount of handling fees Rs. 8, for absolutely no service!
Unethical and Unprofessional Practices: Based on reviews I read on MouthShut, this is a recurring problem, and customers are being systematically cheated by Blinkit, which is owned by Zomato. It seems like Blinkit has made a business out of grabbing people's hard-earned money and refusing to offer basic options like returning the amount to the original payment source. This is not only unprofessional but unethical, and it is clear that Blinkit is trying to force customers to make future purchases by issuing unwanted coupons with expiration dates.
Other platforms provide an option for a refund or voucher—why is Blinkit using such scam-like tactics to force customers to use the platform again? I am utterly disappointed and will not tolerate this kind of disrespectful treatment.
Final Demand: Kindly refund the amount of Rs. 480+ 4+ 4= Rs. 488 back to my original payment source immediately, for the distress and inconvenience caused. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will ensure that this experience is widely shared across all platforms, including but not limited to MouthShut and social media, to warn other potential customers of Blinkit's fraudulent and unethical practices. I want money back in my source account for the total amount of Rs. 480+ 4+ 4= Rs. 488, don't want voucher you keep the voucher and give it to your CEO, he can use it! I hope the company gets shuts down complete in the future, not worthy of being in the market, as you lack professionalism, very unethical, ill mannered bunch of ignorant staff. Biggest scammer is your CEO for having a policy that only allows voucher codes, not refunds, You are running a business. A customer by law is entitled for a refund or at least should be given an option of voucher or money back in the account. I request people reading this to please share on social media or if someone can even create a video about these scammers and upload it on YouTube, also please do remove their app as well. Please do help me readers to get this company shut down. I have REMOVED the app, hope this teaches you a lesson bigtime Blinkit!
