Blender's Pride: A Blended Whisky to be Cherished

DISCLAIMER: This review is based on my humble opinions and perspective, and purely my experience with the brand. I am NOT a whiskey expert/ skilled taster. Just a casual drinker with an affinity for the fine stuff. I will try to keep brand bias as minimal as possible and give as accurate a representation as possible.

I set out on the task of writing a relevant review for Blender's Pride (Which happens to be my favorite brand of blended, premium Indian whiskey currently) because I felt that due to the slightly "niche" character this whiskey exudes, it would be a small contribution on my part to encourage greater numbers of prospective Indian buyers to try this fine delight.

I first tried this brand in a plainly experimental approach, as I was attracted by its quality image and packaging and a little word of mouth. It may seem naive but I did feel something special about this whiskey the moment I examined the distinctive, classy black and gold packaging, with tempting literature on the back, and then decided to try it.

Once the bottle was opened and served, I proceeded to nose it. A delightfully sweet, pleasant aroma welcomed my nose. It had hints of caramel, ginger, and a slightly smoky appeal to it. The smell is also very well mannered, in the fact that it has a mellow resolution. Not harsh in the slightest.

The taste: Delightfully smooth, with a sweet start, small hints of pine, predominant vanilla notes, caramel flavors. Sublime aftertaste, concludes beautifully. The alcohol high is to be mentioned, it is unique as it is slow and delayed, but has a linear increase with a satisfying and pleasant high. It is not a powerful intoxicant that is in your face, and aggressive. However, it is potent enough.

Of the many times that I have enjoyed this whiskey,  really admire the consistency of the flavors of this brand. Take a bow, gentlemen at Seagrams.

Conclusion: This whiskey is truly one of the finest blended whiskeys in the Indian premium market, for my money. If you appreciate whiskey as an experience, and not just a means to get high, please make sure to check this out. The reserve collection, as recently tried, was smooth as well.

Thanks for reading! :)
