I got hooked on the QWERTY Blackberry Q10. After a couple of years it had some issues. Paid a visit to the service center and the phone was dead.

The Keyone was being soon released so I waited till it was introduced. My son bought me a Limited Edition through Amazon.

First impression was I was used to the original Blackberry OS and the Android OS of the Keyone was not as seamless.

Though more advanced, the older Q10 was more user friendly and it took me some time to get used to the Keyone.

Ok, it has a fantastic camera that can take excellent photos or videos. It can play more audio and video formats than the Q10.

And most everything else than a Q10.

If Q10 is like an older gen PC running WinXP or Win7, Keyone is like a new gen PC running Win8 or 10. I prefer the inefficient user friendly former to the latter.

Ok one has to get used to technology developments so that is what I tried.

Unfortunately, it looks like that is not to be. Last month the touchscreen was not responding and apps were opening and closing at high speed by themselves.

After my Q10 experience I was not eager to take it to the Service center. Fortunately after being shut down overnight, it became normal.

But to my dismay, now, after a month the problem has started repeating itself with a vengeance.

A friend suggested a system reboot. It did not help and I lost a whole lot of data because with its dancing screens it was impossible to do any kind of data backup.

So, now it continues to have sane moments but most of the time it has the jumping screens.

Tried contacting Blackberry in India. They asked me to take it to local service center, but I had apprehensions of their competency so I called the Blackberry toll free number and voiced by fears. They gave me the area service manager's number. But for the past 48 hours his phone is switched off!

We paid a little short of Rs.40, 000 for this phone and within a period less than a year it is having these issues.

With the local Keyone population extremely marginal, and with being in Indian market so recently, I dont think local guys are competent to do anything to it.

I dont see any alternatives ahead except depend on my 10 year old Samsung for communication and use the Keyone when it is not insane, until I get fed up enough to junk it.

To all of you out there, Dont Even Think About It!

You will all better off buying something else
