This is after a pretty long time thought of using this valuable space...
Remember reading the below in one of the leading Indian sites..
''Big Bazaar is both big and a bazaar. It is unlike, say, a Wal-Mart or even a Food world. Big Bazaar is almost an airconditioned version of any Indian bazaar. It is a slightly orderly and organised version of, say Chickpet for Bangalore guys or Dadar for Mumbaites. There is a huge crowd which can move in almost any direction. You can buy anything (pretty much everything is available at Big Bazaar). It is not a place where you can browse through at leisure and pick up a few things here and there. This is a place if you are serious about your shopping. And the worst part is at the checkout counter, where the line can stretch as much as a line for a famous Ganpati pandal or a cricket match. Parking is a pain too''.
''But, the place ticks. In both Hyderabad and Bangalore, the outlets dont have a place for customers to stand esp on weekends. Customers wait outside it some before it opens in the morning. Bombay is slightly better. Big Bazaar offers good prices. Really good prices. Prices that tempt. Apart from simple price chopping, there are deals (2 for the price of 1 or prices reduced on a combination etc). The perception of Big Bazaar is that it facilitates some serious savings on grocery shopping. And it works. And make no mistake, it attracts the well heeled as much as it attracts Raju from across the street''.
This was not true to me till yesterday.
Not a regular shopper, was passing by the BIG shop yesterday morning 6 am, as usual jogger this used to be normal route.
Surprised to find the whole road in choked with people. First , thought it was some festival in the near by temple. Devotes both young & old standing in the queue.
Then slowly realised where the BIG GOD was, couldn't come out of the shock. There was long & hot queues outside the SHOP.
6 in the morning .... We are talking about people who are CRAZY to get in ...
In the evening the scene was different, the whole road turned into a Police barricade.
Yesterday was the 57th Republic Day, people struggling to get to MALL which gives some cheap discount.
Is this what we really mean when of our Hon'ble President says , can “India become a developed nation”.
We need to change this kind of scenes and happenings. Then only we can be prominent in the World Map.
