Bhutan is a country not many of us think to visit, when we think of international destinations, Singapore, Europe,Maldives,US, Australia spring up. But I would love to let you know that Bhutan is a place for Trekkers, Natural beauty lovers, Skiing anybody who would love to go to Switzerland but does not have enough resources. I was taken to Bhutan by our school trip. We were 40 girls, started from Jabalpur(MP) to Delhi. We saw Delhi like lotus Temple etc and went in Tinuksia Mail to New Jalpaiguri. It was a three day journey by train. After reaching New Jalpaiguri, we sat in a bus to Phuntsholing( Entry place of Bhutan). Here there is big gate which is the boundary between India and Bhutan. We were in Phunsholing for a day, its a good place to shop as you get good chinese good here. But mind you, there's lots of bargaining here. Then the next day we started for Paro. Paro is like a commercial area for Bhutan. It is the most beautiful place with great scenic beauty. There is a musuem here of the Royal family. There are good staying places here like Hotels, lodges etc. We stayed in Paro for three days and went to Thimpu from here. Thimpu is the Capital, here we met the King, and went to a monastery.
Bhutan has many waterfalls, skiing points, an airbase, monasteries, Royal culture and very friendly people. On the backdrop of the greenery and natural beauty , its a worth watch. We returned back via Calcutta. It was a 15 day tour organized by Raj Travels and it was very enjoyable.
Best place to go in Summers, its very cool there.....
