Brief Introduction:
Bharat Ek Khoj is a serial that airs on DD1 on Sunday evening at 9.30 pm.This is a repeat telecast where the serial was originally made in 1988.
Its a serial that completely reveals the history of great INDIA.A serial by a legend non other than the great writter, director and producer Shyam Benegal.
The serial is based on the book written by the most trusted historian and the first Prime Minister of independent India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru titled Discovery Of India.
My Thought:
The serial when it first appeared in 1988 was not one of my likings and I used to avoid.May be because I was small enough or my likings may not be that matured to accept it.
But now when I watch this serial I understand it much better that I used to do previously. This is the best historic serial that explains all the civilization that had lived in India. It very well displays the changes that occurred during the past centuries that lead to the diverse communities, ranging over 500, living together presently in free India.
The titles, which appear on a Rose, background; the symbol of Pt.Nehru, along with the very well composed title song is nicely miscible with the contents that each episode has to offer.
The script and the characters are in no way away from the theme of the serial.
The sets and the costumes are perfect, truly depicting the days may it be of the Great Emperor Asoka or of the last Badshah-A-Mulk Bhaddur Shah Jafer.
Even the present attempts by the Bollywood filmmakers to show the symbols of Indian history or the historical incidents are far behind from competition with this serial.
All actors specially Om Puri,Neena Gupta, late Ashok Kumar etc.(infact every actor) are at their best doing all their roles perfectly.
The actor who comes intermittently resembling Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru, very well narrates the summary of every episode in simple and easily understandable language.
In today’s confused environment where every other community is being questioned of its presence in free India, this serial is the best way to resolve it.
This serial shows why and what were the conditions in each ruler has taken particular decisions, which have no reason to be compared, or more correctly repaired today. May it be Mohammed Gajnavi,Babar, Aurangazeb or Shivaji Maharaj.
It was history that has passed and had no intension at all to spoil the present of this Great Nation the only one with so much diversity INDIA.
This serial is an unbiased way of teaching every Indian Community to know and respect other community.
Every Indian who wants to explore the revolutions that have taken place in various civilizations should not miss this.
