I m a sydney reader ,i read all of sydneys book ,well most of them are good but few are not worth one read ,as for THe Best Laid plans ,its a good book to read ..

The Story starts with Leslie, a small reporter and Oliver, a Governor with the hopes of one day becoming the President of the United States. Oliver and Leslie are having a good relationship until the father of his ex-girlfriend calls him for a business meeting in Paris where Oliver is offered a chance at being the President but only if he marries his ex-girlfriend(the Governors daughter). Oliver did not tell Leslie about the marriage but she finds out by listening to the news.

Oliver is not happy in the marriage but stays in it because he thinks he has more of a chance of becoming President. A few years later, Oliver finally becomes President and Leslie becomes an anchor person for a local news station. Later on she starts plotting to make Olivers life miserable. As mysterious killings start happening Leslie remembers when she and Oliver where together and he offered her a substance called ''exstacy'', which is the same drug one girl died of from an over dose. Leslie becomes owner of two newspapers and most of her front page headlines are battering the President. While taking part in all of this revenge, Leslie finds that all the while she was making Olivers life miserable, she was miserable herself. It wasn't until Leslie realized that making Oliver suffer was not making her feel any better did she move on with her life to be successful.
