'' Are you in love? Are you looking for love?....If so, Be Mine.com is the place for you!''
As a positioning statement, a site has never had it better - especially during this past one week when Google and other search engines have probably been hounded by requests for webgreetings sites!!!!
Be Mine - the name itself suggests of romance and mushy and soppy stuff. Once upon a 'love'ly time, this site was my homepage - a card a day keeps romance alive, my motto!!!
And this site has definitely much much more to offer than the normal love greetings ( you know what I mean - the kiss, the hug, the proposal ones)
'' So we met ONLINE and I thought our growing friendship was JUST FOR FUN. I sent her FLOWERS, she responded with some lovely POETRY. After some time, I asked her out to lunch and we met. I told her how NICE IT WAS TO FINALLY MEET HERand she blushed.A few more meetings and I got the courage to say LOVING WORDS to her- we became a COUPLE.
Some months later, I took her to a ROMANTIC PLACE and asked her to MARRY ME.we had a beautiful WEDDING and I just want her to know - SIMPLY STATED, I LOVE YOU!!!'
------ The bemine.com card galleries offers cards for every occassion mentioned above. Not only are the cards different and unqiue, the presentation of the page and its features are the most convenient and personalised that I have ever seen:
# The cards are in both flash and non flash format. Being quite complingo illiterate, wouldn't know what to call a card in which the stars in the background are continously moving and the words gently sway ...err..thats one of my fav ones!!!
# You can choose a TEXT COLOUR for the card, a HEADING (some reallly mushy ones are given along with some of the common ones), a SONG/MIDI from the drop down list having most of the popular, both old and new, sountracks and one of the cutest ones is the feature of BACKGROUNDS AND BORDERS (unfortunately, there is a choice between the two)
My personal favourite are the 'romantic getaways' cards having one of a lovely isolated island , a garden, a castle room and many more. sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Apart from the cards, the site is almost like a ONE STOP ROMANCE SHOP!!!
Honeymoon?? nothing tooo expensive...but don't want to compromise on romance. I want her to know how much I want to spend time with her.
It has a section devoted to links for 'SECRET PLACES - romantic inns and resorts in England and US. I was just browsing this and there are loads of romantic sounding names- Who all know of HIDEAWAY HILLS COTTAGES in ohio???
- Pre wedding nerves - where do we get married?? I want food which is delicious and yet not too common!! I dont know which song to play during the reception!!What make-up do you think will go best with my gown??
Browsed through the 'Endless Love' section and its quite impressive. It promises you the 'fairy tale' wedding - got links on ideas for gifts, invitations, honeymoon, candles, flowers, menus, music, gowns, shoes, beauty treatments and make ups and I was completely fascinated with VOWS!!!
The beginning of the 'made in heaven' love story - Meet your match- online advertisement system. You place an ad for Mr/Miss right or browse others. Dont know much about this section though.
Everyone gave us gifts from the Gift Emporium
Other features include : Tributes (to famous people who have displayed love in all its aspects - Paul and Linda mccartney to Princess D to Mother Teresa) and the usual message boards.
Ofcourse, the site also has links to other romance/greetings/etc sites.
However, I recommend this one for the sheer variety and innovativeness of the cards.
Navigation of the site is slightly confusing as most of the links are to other sites and are disguised with such amazing names that half the time you end up visiting 'flower her' section and being taken to 'growingflowers.com' without realising it.
With my wonderful memory, I rely a lot on e-cards and was getting real bored with the popular one. The name of the site piqued my interest (well, which 'hopelessly mushy' girl wouldnt!!!) and after the heartwarming (ahem) response to my first card, this site was added to favourites, then became the home page, and then went back to favourites (my 'unhopelessly unromantic brother was vehemently hostile to the sight of red roses and hearts when he opened the IE)
The only problem with the site, till now, has been the inefficiency of the 'would you like a mail when the receiver receives the card?' feature. I have got a mail from them just once and after that its a case of 'has he, hasn't he'. and unfortunately there have been times - though just 2 - 3 when the card hasnt reached. But then they have to find some use for the 'copy card to own email' feature also...!!!
So start card- a - sending, secretly book rooms in the white dove paradise inns or just order a golden teddy bear make up box....
Valentine's day....spread the love around!!!!
