Movies released in 1980's, portrayed cordless phone as a symbol of wealth. It was my longing too, to buy a cordless phone, though I started using Mobile phone well before buying this, I still had some sort of inclination towards the cordless phone. I went in search of a good cordless phone, at last I zeroed in @ Beetel due to the price factor with good service centers. [I, know there are very good models avaialble from Sony & Panasonic].
The model CB12000 from Beetel, fascinated me, because it had four major points, which I liked:
1) Talking CLI, literally it spells out "Number Calling 98." [This Talking CLI, will help you identify, who is calling even without having a look at the CLIP Display Pad - Of course, needless to say, that one has to be very good at remembering and connecting numbers with persons],
2) Polyphonic ring tones [One cannot modify or save new tones]
3) Base and cordless unit CLIP
4) Base and cordless unit had Backlight display to it's advantage
No sooner, I bought the set to my home, the cordless unit started malfunctioning, luckily the Service was so good, that the set has been replaced immediately [I bought this @ an Airtel branch office]. It had some multi-channel scan system, so that we can adjust clarity of the voice transmission between base unit & hand set.
The battery backup hasn't failed and is really good. However, I feel that sound clarity is not good like Sony or Panasonic. I would say, nothing wrong in choosing this phone. But, for better clarity purpose, one may go in for Sony or Panasonic. When buying a Cordless phone apart from your expectation, look in for CLIP facility in both base & handset [as this has become a standard technology], Backlight for Display board, Ease of using in Memory facility and of course never compromise on the voice clarity.
