I discovered beatgreets.com the other day. You can reach it through a tab on bluemountain.com titled ''music greetings'' or directly with the URL. (Note: the URL is beatgreets.com-NOT beatgreet)
Beatgreets offers songs by more than 100 artists in nine genres. Most of the greetings consist of a portion of a song played by the original artist while a photo montage of lyrics and/or photos of the artist appear on the screen. Greetings can be personalized. The site advertises that the message can be any length because the greeting box will expand to hold it. In addition to being able to search by genre, there is an alphabetical list of artists and about six categories of greetings (love, birthday, sexy etc.)
Here is a sampling by genre (you should check this out yourself-I may not have picked the most popular in areas that I don't follow)
Pop--Enrique Iglesias, Nellie Furtado, Vitamin C, Dido
Adult Rock--Stevie Nicks, Counting Crows, kd lang, Steely Dan
R&B, Hip-Hop--Eve, SisQo, 112
Alternative/rock--Depeche Mode, Weezer, Bon Jovi
Country--George Strait, Alabama, Brookes and Dunn
Christian/Gospel--Mark Curtis Chapman, Yolanda Adams
Classic Rock--Grand Funk Railroad, The Beach Boys, The Ventures
Jazz/New Age--Jim Brickman, Al Jarreau, Pat Matheny
World--Christian Castro, Ding Wei, Paulina Rubio
There are many more in each category.
The greetings are sent just like Blue Mountain e-cards. The recipient receives an email with a link to the card. We sent a couple to our older boys as a test and they both arrived within a short time. The sound is of decent quality on my computer which has only basic speakers.
Beatgreets seem like a fun alternative egreeting for teens and adults. (there isn't any music that would appeal to little ones at this time). It looks especially appropriate for a message for that special someone
