BCMT is a friendly forum compared to other similar forums. Plus points are information and interaction on Ladakh and the Himalayan states.
It is a very good site for photography buffs and those who want to hone their photography skills with several ace lensmen members who are always ready and willing to give good advice and easy to follow tips for taking and editing better images, equipment etc. The Photography Forum and sub forums are good.
Most of the members are from Delhi and the NCR region and other northern states with few foreigners. By and large discussions do not get too volatile though obvious cliques are apparent. Moderators are moderate in their moderation compared to other sites though now and then ego issues slip in and certain members were banned perhaps unfairly so. Some members obviously fawn over the moderators, that is a typical Indian tendency so not very unusual.
Minus point: not enough weightage given in travels to areas other than north India. Few respond to Itinerary questions on non Himalayan /N. Indian travel.
Overall this is a good site but it does not have the same vibrancy or volume or variety of traffic that other similar sites get. Still, it is friendlier than most and that is a huge point in its favor.
