Baseball could be called a faster version of Cricket in some ways coz both involve hitting a ball from a fixed position and even the other two departments are quite similar. Risk-wise, I think baseball is a safer game with all the safety gear every fielder wears.
The Basics
A standard baseball game (the Full Version :P ) has 9 innings for each of the two teams. Each team has 9 fielders each of whom will bat one after the other, once his predecessor gets out or takes a run. The Pitcher (the one who bowls..) has the option to bat or leave his quota of batting to a DH - Designated Hitter - who wo'nt be on the field during the bowling time. Also, there is a separate bowling lineup. The pitcher can be replaced with one from the bowling lineup if he gets tired.
How are you declared out ?
3 Strikes - If you leave three hittable pitches
A Strike after 2 Fouls - If you hit 2 pitches in prohibited area and leave a hittable pitch
Catch - ye know it
Runout - (Play one of the demos to know yourself)
Enough of basics, I guess, play yourself and know.

Why India isn't in the Major League
I guess coz we dont have grass baseball stadiums. I hope to see atleast a better domestic system for the sport. We are taught the sport during the school days but a better infrastructure would spur more interest for the prospective sportsmen in this field. One thing, this sport is not just limited to USA, I've seen Japanese baseball as well (in news..)
