I'm a Bank of America customer not by choice but by the recent merger of Nationsbank with Bank of America. They are a big bank alright but I'm not sure whether that is really better. They have lots of banking products which should satisfy most customer requirements. As for ATMs yes they have enough of them in the states they do business in. Customer service is poor I would say, for example their customer service representatives are not always aware of bank policies which I found strange. They are good if its something straight forward like telling your balance. Since Bank of America has an international presence you would think that they would offer some flexibility across international borders like transfer money across Bank of America accounts internationally, BUT NO such thing. Their service charges also I think are high. The only reason I'm sticking to them is since they have a wider presence in many states in the US you can access Bank of America ATMs and branches. Only recently they have started providing internet access to accounts and bill payment whereas other banks have been providing this service for a long time.
Bottom line they don't offer any special service or facilities as a big bank. For all practical purposes it is like your neighborhood bank
