I live in bangalore and I bought this cooler(bajaj 2007) some time in the mid of april 2013. My bedroom is quite big and has 2 windows. I bought this cooler as the climate in blore became very hot. Moreover, I stay in a rented house and my owner will not allow me to fix an AC. From my experience, bajaj 2007 really helps. It will NOT make the air cool like an AC.
However, it just takes away the heat and brings down the temperature. That is all what I expected. I use it continuously for 6-8 hrs during night and 2-3 hrs during day time.
Pros:
Cooling - Its an air cooler and it just cools. I would recommend this cooler for blore climate. However, make sure that ur room is properly ventilated. I keep cooler near(not very near) to the window. If you have windows on another side, keep it opened. Also, keep the doors opened. it will be "hell" if you use the cooler in a closed room. You can also use ice if you want to get some quick cooling. Fill the entire inlet area with ice. However, dont expect any chills like an AC.
Honey comb filter - Dont buy the grass-type filter. Go for honey comb. When we used the cooler for the first time, we felt like running away from the room. The smell was DISGUSTING. We replaced the water after 10 mins of use and from then on until now, it never produced any bad smell.
Wheels - The cooler is very light weight. However, it will be heavy when the water in the storage is full. This cooler has wheels and it helps me to move to another room.
Cons:
Switches: You have 2 dial knobs on the cooler. One to switch-on the cooler+ contrl the speed. And another knob to control the fan oscillation and the water pump. What I dont like is, when the cooler is switched on, the fan speed will be on the highest. To make it low, you have to turn the knob from high to medium and then to low. I preferred the other way - start -> low -> med -> high
Noise. Cant help. Its like a wood saw mill:-) I checked kenstar and symphony. They are noisy too. However, recently I found one cooler from usha(black color) to be less noisy.
Air flow vent design. Though the air throw is pretty decent, due to some design flaw, there will not be much air throw from the right side(when u stand facing the cooler) of the vent. It's not an issue to me as there'll be powerful air throw on one side of the vent.
The rubber stopper inside the storage container. There is a rubber stopper plug inside the water storage. You have to pull it out from inside to replace the water in the storage area. It is difficult to pull-out and fix-back the rubber plug. I hate doing this. Bajaj should have come up with some other way to replace the water from the storage.
Plastic quality. It doesn't seems to be very strong, especially the water storage section.
Maintenance tips: For any coolers, maintenance should be a religious process. Do not ignore to clean the exterior mesh, honey comb filter, fan blade(they are not blades exactly), water pump and the water container. I not sure if you would need to clean regularly when you use soft water. I use hard water and calcification is a problem for me. When you use hard water, make sure that take out the water pump and clean it at least once a month. Fan Blades collects lots of dust and you may get allergy if you don't clean it.
I don't know if I would be be able to use it for the next summer. I hope it works until then:-)

Hi all,
Writing this almost after 1 year. After the last summer, my cooler was almost idle for a year. Two days ago, with a pessimistic mind, I started it. The fan worked, swing worked.but.water pump showed no sign of life:-(. I tried layman's tech to start it. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally gave up. And since the motor is dead, I thought'why not open it and see how it works'. Trust me, its very easy to open it. When I opened it, I found the magnetic spindle is calcified. It took almost 1 hr to clean all the parts. I assembled it back.and started it again.VIOLA! It started working:-) I am using it since two days.and thankfully it working perfectly fine.
