Folks, already done 350 kms with this one and I am glad that I bought this bike. It's a good vehicle with a powerful engine and great handling when compared to hero honda, TVS. Best thing is you can ride this at 30 Km/h even at the 5th gear making it possible to not switch gears regularly in city roads.i am riding 40 kms to and fro on this one in peak traffic hours and still I am getting 60 to 65 mileage.
Moreover this is the cheapest bike in 150cc segment with on road price being 52000 Approx in Hyderabad. Only disappointment is looks. Had bajaj changed it looks to more sporty and trendy this would have appealed to a large group of consumers.
Overall 4/5 to this one
Update:-
Hi All, hope everyone is doing well. Almost done 950 Kms and my Disco is Ready for first servicing.
Till now it is so far so good
I Wanted to write a detailed review on it, so here we go:-
Discover 150cc comes with 5 gears, Stylish Tail Light, 8-litres Tank capacity, Disc Brake, Exide battery,
It has only a Milometer, Fuel meter and Something known as a Tripmeter which can be set to 0 from the point when you refuel your bike which makes it easier to track mileage and fuel efficiency. It lacks a Tacometer like its previous versions and all the meters are Analog not digital.
Now, coming to the engine, it has the displacement of 144.8 cc with Torque of Almost 13FPS, that means more power to your bike thus making it possible to ride it even in lower speeds of 25-30 at the highest gear making it comfortable to ride in Heavy Traffic conditions on city roads (Riding in Hyderabad is like Playing Road Rash Though :) ) . So Far the engine has been smooth but not extremely Smooth.
The sound is terrific though and you feel the racing instinct of it.
The battery performance has been Awesome and the engine never stops even in worst rain conditions,
horn and indicators are loud. The head and rear light glow heavily under any gear irrespective of acceleration which is good when compared to other Big Players.
Coming to Fuel tank, Sadly it has only 8 litres capacity and 1.5 Litres being Reserve that means you need to refuel your bike after 6.5 litres of fuel consumption. The placement and width of the tank is fair enough which makes it possible to sit comfortably.Seat is like a Rock and it causes Back Pain after a 2 to 3 hours drive, pillion sitting is sufficient but even they complain of Back pain after some time. That Means for long drives like 400 Kms (which I recently went for), u need to take break after 2 hours of driving. But that issue is minor as many will not be driving for that long time for regular commuting between home and office. The Gear Box is Frankly OK and is rough at times but it may become smooth
after servicings
Now coming to Most important Aspect of a vehicle .i.e. Fuel Effeciency. I get 55-60 Km/l in city and got 63 Km/l on Highway. That is a great Figure for a 150 cc bike which is new and has not even completed 1000 kms. However I expect a better performance after the first servicing and in the long run I expect it to be around 50-52 KM/L. This Figure is good when compared to Apache, CBZ, Unicorn.P.S I AM NOT AGAINST ANY BRAND But Did a research and calculated my Budget and Discover came at a staggering 52000/- which is cheap and affordable when compared to above said bikes
Coming to Handling, I rode Unicorn, Shine and discover 150. My Observation was that Discover was easier to handle when compared to Honda Machines and Pulsar as I found them to be heavy and Bulky P.S , AGAIN, I AM NOT AGAINST ANY BRAND I am just making a Stalk comparison. The Kerb Weight is 121 Kg for Discover
Looks of this one are Strictly OK and there is no variety in terms of looks.
On the whole, The Discover 150 Does the basic Job of a Bike efficiently .i.e commuting and Transportation quite well without any Hiccups.
But My suggestion is that, Do a fair amount of a research and Analyze which bike is good for you and meets your needs and Budget.Take as many Test Drives as Possible.Ask your friends for their suggestions and then invest your hard earned money on a bike. That's it.
On the Whole I would stick to my Previous Rating 4/5. Only Dissapointment is looks.
