Until a few weeks ago, my breakfast cereal would be limited to different variations of corn flakes. A visit to the local supermarket and I stumbled upon this new product -- Muesli. I checked out the composition and was rather put off by it first; I have never enjoyed anything made with oats, and Muesli seemed like a strict no-no. But the supermarket staff were offering a free tasting for interested customers. I ended up with a small bowl of skimmed milk and muesli.
The taste was really a winner, unlike most breakfast cereals which are pretty much 'bland'. The mixture of nuts and crunchy cereals with honey mixed into it seemed to impart an enjoyable taste.
Ever since that first encounter, I have tried two different flavours of Baggry's Muesli; both were great tasting. The plain muesli has less sugar, and perhaps more suited for diabetics and health freaks. I have also tried a mixed fruit version, which I now prefer.
Given a choice of 4 commonly used breakfast cereals the following order would be to my liking:
Muesli
Corn Flakes
Wheat flakes
Oats
I mostly take muesli with milk or yoghurt, but I have been planning to try it out with unflavoured soya milk. If it works out fine, I will post my opinion on that.
