I visited Badami in a one-week trip on a bus. History identifies it as the capital of Chalukyas who carved out its supernatural red-stone cave temples. They overlook a body of water called Agasthyateertha. On its edge are the Bhutanatha group of temples. The cave temples have intricate carvings of Lord Vishnu, Jainism Icon Bahubali, etc. They say there is a fort on top of those cave temples, but the path is not navigable these days. The film, Arundhati, is said to be shot on one of the hills over here.
