What a performance I would say, stand out performance by chak de girl! Got the opportunity to watch this flick when it was premiered one night before its release and not only me but everyone in the theatre would agree to me that this movie was something out of the box. Last week nasha was utter flop, but I really had expectations from ba pass and it performed the way I expected, if not for everyone then at least for me.
Thursday's being very busy schedule and I hardly find time to watch movies as arranging stuffs for the friday release is very hectic and breath taking. For those how don't know, I am the assistant-manager of a multiplex and especially thursday's are very very hectic. I decided to watch the movie and somehow made it to watch the entire movie.
Haath Mooh Dho Lo, Aurr Banda Bann Ja made me smile, said by bua. Before movie expectation: I was wondering whether could the new comers make it or break it? But they killed it! Although the movie is based on a book the director already had a plot but he certainly took it to a higher lever.
One liner if I had to describe the movie- If you're bored of erotic movies without good acting, plot etc go for this out of the box movie.
Plot:
Adapted from Mohan Sikka's Railway Aunty, the plot was holding grounds firmly, and to top it excellent acting by everyone.
The movie starts with the funeral of Mukesh (Shadab Kamal) parents, which then compels Mukesh to shift from Punjab to Delhi to his Bua's house in order to complete his education. He has to take care of his sisters too who are in orphanage. There he meets a married lady named Sarika aunty (Shilpa Shukla).
Slowly and steadily the young innocent boy is seduced by Sarika aunty and she makes him her slave and forces him into male prostitution letting him earn money and in the process he thinks it would be good enough to escape and help his siblings out of orphanage. Soon this innocence is transformed into brutality and the movie picks up pace.
Mukesh has just one friend who is a cemetery caretaker (Dibyendu Bhattacharya) and their common interest of chess is what brings them together. Soon Mukesh loses his senses that the craving for sex makes him desperate and in the city this innocent boy is brutally exploited by three drunken people. For some this might be a bit disturbing and obscene as sex is kind of tabooed in our society.
My views about this is that there are lots of such taboo happening in our society behind our backs and there should be some way to stop this out. No one can deny the fact that such things don't happen these days, and there are many such Mukesh out there who are forced into such stuffs.
Cast Performance:
This was where the movie was a stand out as majority of fresh faces were casted in the movie. Starting from the debutante Shadab Kamal, he has acted very well and portrayed the image of a innocent and poor guy striving to earn a livelihood to support his siblings. Being put in a very important role he has completely justified his selection.
Coming to the grave digger, Dibyendu Bhattacharya has acted very well in the small part he has acted in. I liked the way he performed and his acting seemed very natural to me. More roles are surely in store for him. Wish he had some more time to act in the movie, but whatever was allocated was very well acted.
Bua role also was performed quite decently and her dialogue is still wandering somewhere in my mind. Haath Mooh Dho Lo, Aurr Banda Bann Ja hahahaha
And coming to the outstanding performance given by Shilpa Shukla, she has perfectly portrayed her role as a person craving for sex. Every scene was very well acted and no where did I find her low. All the bold scenes were done very well and passionately. I guess Poonam Pandey should learn a bit from her. In spite of being young and dynamic she was portrayed to be aged. The initial apples scene was the best as far as her acting goes. She was the star performer for me. Not many dialogues are in my mind but they were very much believable.
Cinematography:
Many scenes were shot very very well and shot as per the situation demanded. The effects too were properly imposed, but little bit compromise when it came to the vocals. The place where the movie fell was the music section, wish they could have taken care of it too. But I feel that it was compromised in order to give a good plot. Still I definitely missed the songs.
All in all my conclusion is that the movie is surely one time watch and it's something different and must watch for people who watched nasha and you will surely feel the difference. An innocent guy put into difficult circumstances facing brutality to the extreme and the uncovered truth.
Overall I would rate it 3.75 stars. Prefer going BA Pass then Chor Chor Super Chor or Smurfs 2.
