Aazaan is a film on planned biological warfare on a nation and one man army's journey to save the country. The plot and the story is more of foreign in its nature and presentation. Hollywood is more known for the themes like the entire country is in danger and one man army is going to salvage the nation where rest of them comes out of auditorium and watch they perform in big screen while crying and wowing often. Aaazaan is one such foreign stuff which cannot be without foreign motives.

Aazaan finds out that Pakistan is not India's major enemy but China. The minister gives a special permission to infiltrate China to hunt down the "Doctor" who acquired Ebola virus and the remedy to it and is now in Hong Kong, that too using American Helicopters. All of a nation from Agra to New Delhi, Calcutta to Mumbai is waiting for the medicine to get saved from the biological warfare.

The leading actor, Sachiin Joshi is good in some action scenes but on all other situations he is a nonstarter in acting. He looks like Madhavanthat is a plus for the charisma from the look alike leaves some impression on the fresher. Candice Boucher is super cool as the sand artist. She looks like a magic woman just landed from one of Paulo Coelho's soul mate novels. Wished she had more screen space. Rest of the RAWs, Interpols and ex-CIAs did their roles quite well.

Technically it is a well made film with excellent cinematography, efficient editing and fast paced action scenes. Music too is quite impressive and the back ground scores score another plus point. Choreography is good.

There are multi layers in the story but I think I didn't find even one layer impressive. Hardly convincing brother hunt, more mysterious brother sister relationship which often gives the impression of love interest, white baby to save the Indian nation....it is a curry masala without salt, chilly, ginger and pepper. All of characters lack character. You can also find the terrorist brother safe guarding the xavier child for the villain immediately after getting fired in leg and gives out full details of the villain as if he is repenting his action but now, he truns the cold blooded brother, this time without any wounds or hurt. You can see the xavier brother fighting the platoons of terrorists with modern weopens with a machine gun or two even after the minister announced that the anti vaccine for Ebola is been made by the pharmaceutical companies out of the blood from the white child. Wow! That is some fight but wait....they made a new discovery where all machine guns fails they can use an arrow to kill!! Pathetic at times but the fast paced action scenes compensates some loses though not all.

The film can also be called foreign where over 90 percentage of the film is been shot outside India. There are some beautiful locales which may create some interest in us, but the story revolves around terrorism subject and sadly the locales were connected.

I wonder where is the H1N1 now and the AIDS as well as the way it has been advertised as spreading, the world should have come to an end by now. Thankfully it didn't end. That made me to ask the question, who probably paid for the biological warfare with India and the third world countries. I wonder whether to look East or West for the answer. Then, as per my thesis we should look north and we may find some friends funding to make coffins and graves to lay down our children and grand children.

There is nothing remarkable in Aazaan. It is a kind of Hollywood story presented in Indian background shot mostly in foreign locales. If the movie is watchable, it is for its action scenes, music, cinematography and yes, for the sand art displayed by Candice Boucher.

My rating : 2.75 stars.
