I had one of the most horrible experiences with this hospital. My dad who had Hepatitis E got admitted to the hospital on 16 Oct 2018. He was not in that bad condition. He came with my mother from Jamshedpur and got admitted himself. Within 1 day he was shifted to ICU. He was in his senses in ICU and when my mom went to see him during the visiting hour, he said he was hungry and is not being given any food. When we asked the staff, they said us to get some Idli from outside. First time ever in my life I have seen an ICU which orders Idli, tender coconut(wrapped in plastic bag) and other food items from the streets for the patients.
By 3rd day we were told his liver is damaged and transplant needs to be done which would cost about 20 Lakhs and a donor from a family with the same blood group. He was still feeling hungry and was not fed on-time. When we asked if they could feed him through the external pipe, they said they don't have it(which I was shocked to know). Meanwhile, when we asked the doctors to share the reports, their reply was " Are you people doctors?" " Will u be able to understand the reports?" When we had the money and donor ready, they said he has got infection in lungs, until its gets cured nothing can be done. No wonder patients would get an infection when everything from streets is allowed in ICU.
The story doesn't end here, even for CT scan and most of the other tests they asked the donors to get it checked in the new building. It is shocking to see all the hospital resources are being transferred to the new building which they are still working on, then why are they keeping the patients where there is no facility available? Before my dad, 3 other people died in ICU with same pattern(with jaundice). First, they told liver is damaged and by the time the family got the donor and money, they said its too late. We arranged the money and donor within 2 days.
My dad passed away on 23rd Oct at 11.40 AM. The last test reports are available for 7:30 AM and there is no report after that. His HBS was 9.8 on the 22nd night and it dropped to 6 on the 23rd morning but they didn't inform us about this. If he was getting critical why there is no report after that? My brother was outside the ICU day and night when my dad's condition was getting bad, why didn't they call earlier to let him meet the family? They informed us only during the visiting hour that his heartbeat has stopped and when I said I still want to see him, the doctor asked me to wait for 10 mins so that he could get the mock set-up done. When I was called to finally see my dad, I saw few nurses and doctor around giving him cardioversion. It was just looking like a mock set-up to misguide us.
Not only that, my uncle and I was not asked to wear the apron(which I know is mandatory if you are visiting ICU)
I am going to write to the Ministry and would take all measures to make sure this is being brought to everyone's notice. Request to people who are reading this post, please don't let anyone go to this hospital. They are not doctors, they are demons.
