Did you know almost 70% of our body mass is made of water. When we do any kind of activity we use up this water, so we constantly need fluids to replenish ourselves. The type of fluid and the amount of fluid we intake is what we have to monitor to keep ourselves healthy. We all have heard from somewhere or the other that soft drinks are bad for us but still we tend to reach out for those especially in the summer. Here is where we need to think a little before we act, knowing exactly what we are gulping down can help so here`s some info-Soft drinks are(a).Carbonated-fizzy(b).noncarbonated
Carbonated stuff like Pepsi, coke, goldspot, limca etc are made up of-
1.water-through which carbondioxide is passed to give it the fizz
2.sugar
3.Artificial colours, flavors
These drinks when tested in the lab are highly acidic, have absolutely no nutritive value, they only give you calories from sugar. Diet coke, pepsi contain artificial sweeteners like aspartame which are known to give a lot of side effects.
Non carbonated stuff like Mangola, frooti etc may not have fizz but they have a high sugar content which means high calories and though they claim to use fruit juices artificial flavors are used to a large extent.Rasna which is a favourite among kids is completely synthetic-read the ingredients on the pack.
Natural Fruit juices like Tropicana, Real are a better choice.Mala`s products are also good. Why not try making fresh fruit juice at home in your blender or juicer, at least that way you can decide how much sugar you want to have.
But whatever you do dont forget to drink WATER, you need a minimum of 8 glasses a day, try it and see how good you feel.Drinking less water can cause lots of problems so keep filling that glass.
Take care and Cheers!
