IN MY OPINION:
Aquaman is an aquatic journey of a rightful King of Atlantis. Atlantis is a kingdom located under the sea. All this imaginary thoughts have been brought in to life by James Wan. As Jason Momoa returns back to play the role of Aquaman, the fans have been waiting to see what DC had to offer about the story of an underwater superhero.
STAR - CAST:
Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Randall Park.
PLOT OF THE MOVIE:
The movie is set back in the era of 1985 when a light keeper named Tom Curry ( Tumuera Morrison) finds a woman lying on the beach. She is named Atlanna ( Nicole Kidman) , and is the actual queen of Atlantis who had fled away from her own marriage. The two people will fall in love and have a half-Earthling, half-Atlantean son christined Arthur Curry ( Jason Momoa) .
As the year passes by, Arthur Curry is trained by Atlantis'vizier Vulko ( William Dafoe) to gain his Atlantean abilities. However, when Princess Mera ( Amber Heard) seeks for Aquaman's help, he gets to know that his half-brother King Orm ( Patrick Wilson) has something else in his mind. Fed up of the land-dwellers who are polluting the water, the hungry-mongrel will do anything to gain the Ocean Master's title. He also teams up with David Kane who is a pirate underwater, and no sooner becomes Black Manta ( Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) , who only wants to seek revenge from Arthur. At war in both his homes, that is, land and sea, it is up to Aquaman to bring peace between the two.
PERFORMANCES:
The cast of Aquaman is just outstanding and they are amazing as one would expect it to be. Jason Momoa is perfectly suited for being the Aquaman. He is shown as sarcastic in nature with a take-it-easy attitude. Amber as Mera is shown as a valiant and good hearted princess who falls in love with the beauty of the land. William Dafoe plays as a supportive character doing well whereas Patrick is convincing with his cruel intentions but actually Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is the one who strongly delivers the negative role of Black Manta. And, Nicole Kidman who excels as the badass Queen Atlanna with her role in the film.
MUSIC:
The background music score is good enough and flows well along the plot.
CINEMATOGRAPHY:
The outstanding CGI effects applied to the film makes it worth watching especially on the big screen. Watch it in 3D for an amazing adventurous experience.
MY SUGGESTION TO YOU:
Aquaman is a successful attempt made by the DC's to create one of the best CGI films ever since the release of the Dark Knight. The entire movie is delightful to watch, the wild aquatic adventure and leading it to an epic climax with a grand final battlefield. So go for it and enjoy the super successful brooding grittiness of Zach Snyder films.
