Have you heard of a gizmo which almost does everything for you...........serves the purpose of people who throughout the day are on the move and love listening to their all time favorite muzik...No,Howzsdat possible??Please gimme a break !!! Well it is the famous so called "ipod". At present the world leader in MP3 muzik Players across the globe.After hearing number of +ve's,(exceptions),I bought one(30gb Black) & still loving it.
But, *cries...empties the whole pocket of whosoever buys it...ripped mine too - *again cries !!!!!

Over the past years, the Apple Ipod has undergone different phases of revolution. From Black & White Display to Colour, From Thick to Sleek, From Music to Pictures to Videos etc etc etc....

Muzik- A Hearing Delight.......
Amazing man, It is a treat to hear songs through the Ipod, Excellent sound quality, Crisp Voice , Treble/Bass a little shaky ,on a whole Very good Product. For the amount of money spent, it's worth it. The eardrums are 'Best Of the Best'. At full volume also, it maintains it's reputation.
Video's (Movies, Song ones) and Picture's (V&N).....
It is an enjoying experience while watching Videos and Pictures along with special slideshow effects such as automatic brightness adjustment on a BIG 2.5 Inch TFT LCD screen. But Hehe on the other side of the coin, the V&P use up the battery very quickly and take a little more time to load up on the screen.
Storing the above 2 in your i-pot oh sorry I mean ipod.....
I hate It
It is possible to store songs, pictures, videos only with iTunes, the main and biggest disadvantages of buying an Ipod. In other MP3 players, you just plug-in and copy paste the songs but hear it's a very tedious job - Time consuming & not a simple thing to do, you press a wrong button and there goes all the data to the trash ):
itunes being basically a music library & media player, is not that much an user friendly software. You have to search for the function you wanna perform, look around........Simply a zig zak puzzle for everyone.
Battery, Screen & Body, Click Wheel /Menu's, Contacts.......
Uses both types of batteries, Lithium ion in Video Versions and Nickel Metal Hydride in Nano & Shuffle Versions.Incase of an video ipod, the battery is wretched to say the least. There is a big difference between what company says and the reality. Maximum backup(if playing songs) is 6 hours and during V&N playback is 2 hours.
The screen & Body give us a flattering feal. From front -totally in black colour, and at the back so clear that it acts as a mirror also & with the apple logo, the whole thing looks really awesome. Certainly not scratch resistant (disappointing factor), scratches start appearing the moment you peal of the original protector.
Another positive which adds to the list is the existence of click wheel (Touch Wheel) which helps us to navigate through the simple yet sophisticated menus in the ipod, change the volume & many more.
You can also store pod casts and contacts in the ipod, firstly adding them to outlook then to ipod.
Storage limit.....
My ipod has a memory of 30 gigabytes i.e too much for a person like me. ooooooooooooo. It can also be used as an hard-drive to carry/transfer data from one computer etc to another.
Only specific song formats are excepted by the ipod. For e.g.:-Videos are needed to be converted into MP4 files. itunes converts all for you but takes too much time, so I will suggest you to download- Videora Ipod Converter for the same.

Care Section....
If you want your ipod to serve you better and for longer duration, extreme care should be incorporated. I am listing some measures as a user which can be taken into account:
A) To protect it from scratches buy a silicon case for the same easily available in the market.
B) Donot put pressure on the connecting wire while putting it in the dock area otherwiese the small locks in it will break up.
C) Do remember to eject the ipod from the itunes, donot simple take ut the wire.
D) Donot watch videos for longer hours, reduces the battery life..!!!!
Price and service.........
The ipod 30gb video costs around INR 13,000 in India as of know.(Expensive).I personally would suggest you to go for 30gb because you compare with Nano(Costs around Rs 8,500,4GB), you just have to pay 4,000 bucks more to get the best available.Coming to the service part, service centres are not easily accesable mostly in non-metropolitan cities & the executives there donot pay attention to your probs.....

1.5 months ago, there was an full page article in Hindustan Times on the Apple IPOD. It stated that for the 1st year it works fine but immediately after that - AAP JANO AAP KA BHAGWAN JANE....Problems related to the dock, screen, headphones creap up and the service centres charge too much for the repair....
So to sum it up, good product but has equal negatives..........Waise would recommend all you people to check out other brands before buying this one.
