Me, just like thousands of other candidates across India have gone through the troubles at Appco. But then again, my review is going to be a little more lenient than some others that I have seen.

To start off, I visited the Ulsoor branch and went for an Interview for Floyd. Again, like many I fell for the marketing of being able to become a manager in months, I thought why not and gave it a try. I went there and attended the interview and as I was a little late I realised I was also supposed to take the aptitude test. But being late I didn't get to and apparently it seemed absolutely fine with them as though there really was no necessity for it.

Anyhow, they conducted very frank and casual interviews, I was also asked to come the next day where they took me for their demo or what they called'Observations'. They showed us what they actually do so I took it up as a challenge and tried my best to impress them.

Consequently after I went home I get a call saying that I was selected and then went there again the next day. Then began our intensive training immediately where someone is assigned to you and they repeatedly make you say the pitch and learn it by heart and eventually perfect it. Then for a couple of weeks I went on the field and did just like they had said, but I always had some hesitance since day one.

I didn't like the fact that we had to do it on an everyday basis, which was really tiring. Plus a lot of them blatantly use lies and white lies as they call it to get things done. Though I did pick up a few tricks during my training on field.

At one point, I just said to myself." I cant do this any more". I was at my limit and was both mentally and physically exhausted with all the travelling and the expenses for it including the meals we have everyday outside.

At the end of the day what Appco and their subsidiaries do is that they tie up with various NGO's and pitch for them and generate money for them, and apparently they get a percent out of their marketing budget apparently while the money which the customer gives goes "entirely" to the organization.

I did not like the fact that literally everyone uses abusive words so openly and freely to show their casual and modernity. Also everyone was very much into drinking and smoking, something which I am not into at all. So it literally becomes a part of the culture being there.

Eventually after a couple of weeks I just decided that I cannot do it any more and just called at work and told them that I am done and will not be able to continue, hence ending my journey with Appco.

Yes, Appco is doing a good job in generating a lot of money for NGO's and their various clients, but nothing else seems to be good enough.
