I chat in quite a few different chat rooms now, and one of them is aim. This stands for aol instant messenger. You can chat to friends in a chat room, or in a room with just your friends.
To download aim go to https://aol.co.uk You do not have to be with aol to go on this chat as I'm not, but I used to be though. You just download it and you are then ready to chat to friends.
You can add friends to your buddy list, which tells you if they are on or off line.
YOu can say you are away from your pc too, so people will know not to message you. I also use it if I'm busy and do not want to be disturbed.
You can chat to as many people as you want at the same time. You can all chat in one room, and you just send an invitation to your friends, who will join the chat room, or you can chat to them all seperately.
To start chatting to someone, just double click on there name, and a chat box will appear on your screen. Type your message in, and click on send. Your message will deliver to the other person, who will then send a reply back.
There is a range of little yellow faces that you can send with your messages to make them more interesting. There is smiling, blushing, sad and more.
You can write a profile about yourself, so other people can know about you.
You can find someone to chat to by e-mail, name and address, address or by hobbies.
You can select a buddy icon for people too. There have loads to choose from under catergories like people and animals, and many more.
I like using aim, and I also use icq and msn too. They are all addictive to chat on as each other really.
I'd recommend this chat to anyone for making new friends and chatting to people that you already know too
