Annadurai is a tamil film with Vijay Antony as the lead, playing double role. It also stares Jewel, Diana Champika, Radha Rava and Kaali Venkat.
The story is about twin brothers Annadurai and Thambidurai. The elder one is a drunkard and lazy fellow and the younger brother( Thambidurai) is a teacher. Their mother wants Annadurai to change his habits and he agrees to do so. But before that, he gets into a brawl in a bar and kills a person there, due to which he goes to jail. After he comes back, his entire family is changed and refuse to accept Annadurai. Also he finds that his younger brother has become a hired don due to circumstances. What happens next forms the story.
The problem of the movie is the screenplay. It is very slow the story was dragged un-necessarily. This makes us feel bored in the first half itself. Also, the story is an old-wine on new bottle kind.
Performance wise, Vijay Antony acts pretty well, but not great. The director did not give much scope to other actors. Radha Ravi and Kaali Venkat give decent performances. Music by Vijay Antony is good only in bgm's. None of the songs impress us. Cinematography and stunts are good.
Overall, not a film worth watching in theatres. You can watch for a time pass, but do not expect anything from the film.
