Ever since I can remember, I have thoroughly enjoyed eating Amul Butter since my childhood days.
A good question would be why only Amul Butter? Well, the answer is equally simple, because it is a brand name that has been built up over the years, thanks to consistently maintained quality and market visibility. I mean, just think of it, any product such as butter, requires that the manufacturer drills it till it registers and not only that, when you sit at the dining table and think of having a bread and butter sandwich, the picture that comes to your mind is of a big packet of bread (brand is not important there) and a slab of Amul Butter - Simply makes your mouth water! Am I making my point?
Apart from the above, I guess there are things that you learn to associate or relate to over the years. I mean, since I can remember from my childhood days, through school and college and after that my pre-marriage days and even after marriage, we have always had a slab of amul butter lying in the fridge at all given times. The moment it gets over, I go to the market and replenish it.
Another good question is why not buy another brand? After all, butter is butter, by whatever brand name you may call it. But I strongly disagree. Over the years, my mother tried many times to wean me into eating home made butter. No matter how she changed the composition of the home made butter, I would still stick to the slightly salty, totally smooth and edearing quality of Amul Butter.
A couple of times I tried using Vijaya Butter and even some other brands of butter, including Vimal Butter at the time I had been doing some work for Vimal Diary Limited. But there was something missing, perhaps the aftertaste that Amul Butter leaves in your mouth, or God knows what. All I know is that I LOVE AMUL BUTTER and will eat only Amul Butter as long as I live.
Now my daughter also follows the same trend. Give her Brittania Cheese Slices and she rejects them outright! Runs in the family, I guess.
