American Beauty through an Englishman. Review on American Beauty Movie

I was waiting someone would write an opinion of his or her on American Beauty but it seems they were hard to come for a movie which won five oscars in 1999. And the reason why this movie becomes a stand out cause it is a debutant British director who comes up with the art of describing - a family/ a family which is disturbed, a marriage which is on rocks, a failed father and daughter relationship, the discomfort of the wife being successful than her husband, husband having to deal with an affair, a gal falling in love with a weirdo who knows it all whats happening in tis family, father having an affair with his daughter's best friend and at the end of it having the morality to accept and deal with life, to still love it and admire it despite all its drawbacks.

i know I must have given a great part of the storyline. but just imagine o say soo much through a movie, this what gave sam mendes an oscar in his first movie as the best director. won kevin spacey who plays the disillusionment of being a failure as almost everything until comes a young 17 year old girl in his life. annette bening is a stand out. must admit was disappointed but she really made you think as whether she was the one who was the pain giver or taker.

American Beauty is a classic story which describes a middle class family and the current psychological and family problems that today's generations is going though. the end is thrilling , you get flabbergasted. I know for many of us Indians its a hard concept to imbibe and accept, but the reason why the movie won o many critical acclaims and accolades was for the very same reason. having the creativity to come up with such a portrayal and to do it so astonishingly well. kevin spacey was splendid and while it was the script that came as the saviour and the over whelming point of the film
