Ameet Parekh Coaching is working closely with MouthShut.com to enhance customer satisfaction.
I wanted to register for his online seminar. I clicked on the link given in the Youtube advertisement. They asked to pay Rs 99(didnot mention that GST is extra) Anyway, I paid the amount. Then a screen appeared claiing that the registration is not over yet; even after I had given my email and mobile number.
The page declared that I must subscribe to a WhatsApp group and that is THE only way of communication for the seminar.
I have to points about this.
1) They never mentioned in the registration page that the only way of communication is registering on a whatsapp Web group. They spring the surprise only AFTER you have already paid the regsitration fee.
It is enitrely their prerogative what method of communication to use. My point is that they should make it abundently clear BEFORE they collect money and personal details(mobile number and email address).
2) If they insist only on whatsapp Web as a mean of communication, why do they need my email address for registration? To sell it to some marketing agency?
This is not just unprofessional, but creates further doubts about their method of working. I now wonder what other surpises they will spring on me once I attend their webinar.
So I have decided to forego my Rs 118 and not join the whatsapp Web group.
