Worse experience I have had in my life. My debit card was charged without my consent. I had ordered one high chair & Swimming pool for my niece through Amazon using my colleague's id in the month of June 2019, and I had put my details and card no. for 1 time charge as it gave me an option and I wanted the same. I received by delivery after few weeks where I received only the high chair and not the pool as it was not available with Amazon and they refunded the amount to me for the pool on 3rd July. Later suddenly I started receiving deduction of AED 12 every month on my card, for continuous 3 months, as I keep travelling and I keep switching different countries no. on my phone, I missed receiving the messages of charge on my card through my bank. After I got settle down in dubai for a week, and checking my bank statement, I got to know that Amazon was charging my card for 12AED per month for last 3 months without any reason and without my consent.


I checked with my colleague Marina whose Amazon account I had used once to order the items in June 2019(high chair & pool) reconfirming incase she used my card to purchase items from Amazon. To my surprise I got to know from her that she didnt purchase anything on amazon for last so many months and it not aware of these deduction of AED 12 per month on my card.


Finally I arrange the amazon help no. for dubai as I live in dubai and the booking of the items where done in dubai.


I spoke to the amazon associate on 29th June at around 10pm and shared my concern with him. According to him the deduction of AED 12 was for the Prime membership. I had no clue about it as I just used my colleague account once, therefore I checked with my colleague Marina and according to her she never opted for this membership and was not aware about it at all as she stopped using Amazon online shopping for months.


I called back the amazon no. and informed the same, according to the amazon associate the membership was opted on 13th June and as the primary card details did not have sufficient balance, they were charging my card. I was shocked to this. My question is how can you charge someone else's card for someone else's membership which was not opted by me or my colleague. Without my consent you cannot charge my card at any cost. I clearly remember inputting my details on amazon in june 2019 only for one order which I had placed and had opted for the option, one time charge. Incase there was insufficient balance in the primary card, amazon team should have reached out to my colleague Marina, seeking the permission to charge the second card which was mine. Nothing was done as such. Amazon decided to charge my card without any approval. This is fraud. I have lost all the trust in Amazon and will not advise any of my known people to deal with it.


I demanded to speak to the supervisor on 29th Sept 2019 night, I was connected to the lady Dalia after 20 minutes on hold, she claimed to be a supervisor which I afraid to believe as she didnt have any such skills with her. She made me nervous and angry with her way of dealing my concern. She was not at all cooperative and kind. She kept talking and kept interrupting me. She was trying to impose her decision on me. She refused to refund the wrong charge on my card and offered to give a gift voucher with which I was not comfortable as I have lost all the trust in Amazon and didnt wanted to do any further shopping with it. I simply told her that I want my money back on my card and I have trust issue with amazon therefore I am not willing to sign up for gift voucher. She kept on repeating the same offer which annoyed me to the core. As she was not at all helpful and understanding, I drop the call. I had well informed her that I will leave my bad experience on social site to which she replied that she does not care about it.


I hope amazon team will understand my concern and will get back to me with my refund. If not then I will feel that I was cheated and will take this matter to a different level. This is not about money, it is about the safe and security of my personal details and card no. You cannot charge anyone's card just like that as per your convenience. I hope my concern is heard.
