I was a fairly regular customer of amazon.in until 2017, but not anymore, thanks to their poor attitude & shoddy customer service.
I noticed one day that Amazon stopped offering the COD option on my online purchases. I couldn't understand why, so I had their customer support call me back. And the executive simply would NOT tell me what exactly was wrong. He only said, "There is some problem with your account, sir, that's why you don't have the COD option anymore."
And he gave me an option to contact Customer Support via email. So, I wrote to them, and believe it or not, I get a rude message stating, "We cannot tell you what is wrong with your account. Please use whatever options are available on the website."
So, I decided I will not put up with such crappy service attitude and decided to delete my amazon.in account.
However, the process of account deletion has intentionally been made so difficult, it is a nightmare.
Anyway, after some online research with other customers who had similar problems, I found out that the COD option was probably deleted because I had returned a couple of my purchases.
But what Amazon India doesn't care to find out is know is, why I had returned the products.
One time, the courier delivery guy went to a wrong location, then called me from there saying, "Sir, I waited for 10 mins, tried your number and could not reach you, so I left."
Is this MY problem?
On another order, the guy came with the package but without a card payment machine. I said, "At least why don't you call the customer an hour in advance, when you don't have a card payment option? That way, I can be prepared with cash."
He just looked at me, and didn't even offer to come back later. He said, "So what to do now, sir? You can return the product."
So, I had no choice but to return it.
So, likely for these reasons, Amazon has'blacklisted' me and decided to remove COD options for me.
Anyway, their loss. I shop on other sites now where the services are much friendlier.
