Amazon.in made some name for itself. I generally had a positive opinion of them for several years, till the time I got a little more interested in shopping with them and fell into their trap of falsehoods of cashback offers.
There was this offer of Rs 100 cashback on Amazon Fresh based on my past transactions, appearing in offers I had "won" - so this wasn't some random offer which I mistook as applicable to me.
I clicked on the "Order Now" option of that offer and placed the order. Received no cashback. On complaining the shocking answer was "this offer does not apply to you". They could not cite a single term or condition from the t&c that I violate and uttered no word beyond this does not apply to you despite repeated attempts to seek an explanation.
I also filed a complaint with the Govt's National Consumer Helpline. To utter dismay I found that NCH agents are parrots of these big bullies. They merely took amazon's response and threw at me saying the merchant has replied and "disposed off" the case. Looks like they have enough "motivation" to be puppets of the big e-commerce companies.
Will try and take it further, but it requires a lot more effort and money and the bullies like amazon bank on us consumers giving up beyond all freely available avenues, on which they have sufficient control.
This is shocking, unethical, immoral and illegal and there is no easy way out as I have just witnessed how ruthless bullies these giants are.
I also wrote to their CEO. Someone on behalf contacted me from an email id do-not-reply@. so no conversation could happen further. He must have gladly closed the case saying the customer didn't respond. Probably that's by design so.
