I have many fond memories of my days in Fergusson College, Pune. Those were the best and most memorable days of my life. It was a sunny and bright day in 1994 when I first stepped into the corridor of the magnificent college building shaped in Victorian-Gothic style.
The 3-storeyed NM Wadia Amphitheatre, Bai Jerbai Wadia Library, the Gymkhana Ground, Botanical Garden and the Kimaya Open-air theatre located in the North side of the Campus were some of the major attractions of Fergusson College. Established in 1885 the College boasted of many luminaries like Vinayak Savarkar, JB Kriplani, VP Singh, PV Narsimha Rao, Smita Patil, PL Deshpande, Sonali Kulkarni, Pooja Batra, Manjiri Phadnis etc. Fergusson College is rated as one of the top ten colleges of the country.
The faculty and teaching techniques of the College is one of the best of the country. Even today I feel nostalgic thinking of my days spent with my friends in the classroom, college canteen and the two restaurants - Savera andVaishali located inFC Road. One day I plan to visit my Alma Mater to relive the fond memories……
