Allen forest zoo is also known as Kanpur Zoo. It is located on the outer edge of the industrial city of Kanpur. One special thing about yhis zoo is it has a tiger in the open space, yes, not in a cage! It is surrounded by the valley filled with water. The main attraction of the zoo is the botanical garden, which holds the collection of some of the rare speciea of plants. Rainwater lake, aviary and night house are other major attraction of this zoo. The zoo also have an aquarium and life size sculptures of perihistoric dianosaurus. It is a huge area having a wide range of animals. I would recommend a minimum of 4 hours if you want to enjoy while visiting it. there is a separate building for fishes. This building has extra charges except the entry fees of zoo but this building will provide you a number of variety of fishes. Allen forest zoo has recently been provided with the facility of train. Visitors can go through entire zoo in the train. Its really enjoyable for both adults as well as kids. The zoo is also an educational site for teaching school students about environment issues and natural habitats.
