What a hair raising story??!! The whole movie revolves around a variety of hairstyles (especially), costumes and accessories. One must wonder if the actors spent more time in the saloons than on the sets doing some acting for a change…. Due to the movie’s delay, the story is pretty stale and gets to you!!! Saed Jaafri plays an Austrian zillionaire and speaks a rather funny German cum French accent. Nai!!!!!!! (He means to nahin) Since his Indian wife has ditched the Austrian Sahib, he detests Indians. So obviously his daughter, Sonia (played by Ash) cannot marry a Desi journalist. (Played by Jackie Shroff) So bubye then…Some time later the Memsaab lands somewhere in India (which seems to me to be Mauritius) to find her mother’s grave and sees her sweetheart journo again.
In this whole while Tony guide (played by Govinda) who’s showing Madam Memsaab around mistakes her friendship as love. Tony fails to see his neighbor’s (played by Namrata Shirodhkar) love for him. Quite a for square ha???!! Neighbor behind Guide Guide behind Memsaab Memsaab behind Journalist Oh my my !!! What a sour “KHICHDI”!!!!! In the movie you do see people giving gifts to each other with the price tags on??!! And many horrid diseases incurable in “Pardes”. weird naa….. Direction as well as the script is PaTHetiC!!! Cinematography is “WOW”. Music is pretty sad…. One does get some time for short naps…
As for the performances all the talents have been wasted. No element of comedy (except for one scene between Saeed and Govinda), inspite of Chi Chi being in the movie…Ash baby such a Barbie, when do we expect her to begin acting?? She looks absolutely stunning but, that’s it.Jackie and Namrata are pretty okie dokie. So my advice is please don’t waste your time on such movies like I do….
