Airtel does not diligently maintain documents supplied to them or update their records under- know your customer norms.
To cover this up, they disconnect service to Coerce customers to keep resubmitting documents. When asked what happened to the previous resubmission, they have no clue. They are hiding behind TRAI and GOI (telephone regulatory authority of India & Government Of India) skirts to keep demanding resubmission of documents, even when there is no material change in the information. Customers should rise up against Airtel's harassment and inefficiency.
Here is my letter to them in the matter.
Airtel India CEO and others,
Sir,
Cell Phones have become an individual's medical, social, civil emergency medical lifeline. In that they are like cardiac pacemakers and life support system. Discontinuing such an essential service without sufficient fault of the customer is a very serious offense of consequences that you are liable to pay.
It was Never Government of India's or TRAI s intent or purpose while demanding KYC norms and giving you the ultimate penal authority of disconnection of such an essential service so that national security is not compromised, that you damage your own customer base or destroy a customers rightful use and enjoyment of a fundamental right to communication for business, personal security or any other lawful purpose, or harass them -we do have right to be free of harassment by any authority including the police, much less YOU JUST A CELL PHONE OPERATOR?
Nor was it their intent to permit you to misuse their image, name, power and authority under law as a cover up for your inefficiency and inability to provide an essential service.
It is also well proven that no dangerous element of society with bad intent and purpose will go public with any treatment meted out to him or her, or operate from the same identity and proof for 64 years forty of which I have done from the same physical address.
My case is, as my following email trail clearly indicates, and I am sure your own records if any you have maintained with any diligence will show,
- That I got a connection providing the same bsnl landline of 35 years, drivers license of 39 years from a residential address where I have resided since 1968, in 2009. I do not know what you did with those records.
After the Government and TRAI knee jerk reaction- there has been no recorded instance that this has thwarted or exposed even one or two terrorists threats against the national security.
In the aftermath of this order, under the same harassment I provided the exact same copies vide YOUR intentionally undated kka9039760. I would be bound by law and duty to update you only if there is any change in the address.
Now you have made yet another what I term illegal, unlawful misuse of authority demand under the same law because you callously, failed to update the records and maintain appropriately with diligence and efficiency, you have without cause- cause if any is your failure to update and maintain your records- demanded that I provide the same documents again and what's more disconnected the service also.
Therefore I demand that you restore my service immediately while you sort out your mismanagement.
Otherwise you are liable to all the costs and consequences of your acts.
