I have been using my Airtel connection, almost more then 10 years now and is a privileged customer as per them. Received all the services and have paid good amount of money to Airtel. My wife is also using the Airtel connection for almost more than 10 years now.
Update your Aadhar number: what a procedure. I went to the Airtel store and tried to update my aadhar but due to some technical issue with my aadhar, the bio metric process was not going correctly and was advised to get this corrected from the Aadhar office, which I did but still it was not accepting. I went with my wife to get her Aadhar updated to her connection and the lady at the office advised me that I can also get my connection linked to my wife's aadhar card without any changes happening to my connection. I repeatedly asked them that will there be any changes to my connection or not, the lady with lot of confidence said, "Sir we know why are you asking the same question again and again. Finally I agreed and updated.
After about a month I came to know that the ownership has been changed to my wife's name. I went to the store to check this and they suggested that I should submit an NOC from my wife and this will immediately get changed but it has been almost 3 weeks nothing has changed.
I called the customer service and found that they have not received any change request and asked to speak to the manager. It has been 48 hours no one has bothered to call me back in spite of a call back arranged.
This is the largest mobile network company and has lot of customers.hence they don't care about such things.
Do not trust Airtel.they are the worst service providers and specially the stores.the people sitting there think that they are Sunil Bharati and can take things for granted.
