I purchased Airtel 3G dongle from the service provider in my office because internet speed in office is very slow.
For last 3 months, I am getting a speed of 4 to 5 kbps( which is worse than EDGE / GPRS speed). At this speed, even basic webpages take ages to load or don't load at all.
Repeated complaints have yielded no results. Every few days, they say that now you will get better speed but it is obviously not true. Last week, when I complained to them, they sent their technical person. That person seemed to be playing hide-and-seek with me. He would call and then when I answered the call, he would disconnect.
Finally, I called him and blasted him for childish behavior. He told me that the signal strength on towers near my office complex(it is a huge office complex in Bangalore) have been deliberately reduced, and he will seek permission from his managers to increase signal strength.
Till now, this drama has been replayed several times but no improvement in speed. If you complain to Airtel, they simply say that - "Sir you are the only person complaining about poor speed. All others are enjoying high speed Internet".
My personal recommendation would be to stay away from this product. Airtel is fooling people in the name of 3G and 4G. If you buy this dongle, you will be stuck with an unusable product and service.
