The first point to remember is there is not a single service provider in this world who has got 100% customer satisfaction. The bigger the company the more dissatisfied customers will be there. The question is what's the percentage or ratio of satisfied and unsatisfied customers? It's not the same thing to have 5 unsatisfied customers for a base of total 20 customers and having 100 dissatisfied customers in a pool of 1000. In% it's 25% and 10% really.
Bharti is one of the biggest with millllions of customers. Even if they have 100000 unsatisfied customers, it's only 10%.:)
The appartment I live in has got an automated airtel exchange in our basement for 650 flats, so I have hardly haced any issues in the past 1 yr with the exception of once or twice cabling issues in ther beginning. Their service has been ok to my expectation. Got resolved within 48 hrs. I giver it 8/10.
Speed is ok. Whatever they promises, they delivers. Myself being a network professional for 13 yrs have benchmarked their link many times. They were upto the standard with 1:10 dilution ratio. I have 4mb link, so download speed I get is always between 400-450K/sec. For those with BSNL, will have something better. I give it 10/10.
Link stability is fine. They hardly fluctuates. But again that might be due to the exchange below. The last LEC may be an issue for most broadband customers regarding cabling which might get snapped or having issues due to non-Bharti factors. for mine, I give it 10/10.
Customer service: I hardly found anyone whether it's my aquaguard or airtel or banks, they are always stuffed with non-fertile brains. Just think, who will join call centers 24x7 shifts? It's the people who doesn't have any other way. So lower your expectations while speaking with those dumbos. Mails are a better option rather than talking. But ultimately things get sorted out with effort. I give it 5/10. But again this rating is a generic one for all of customer care services.
Lastly, the disconnect procedure. Can't rate since I have not done that. But I am confident that I can work it out in time when required. Only you have to pull the right strings. Keep a copy of disconnection request emails and record your conversations. If they charge illogically, get a penalty from consumer forum.
Overall, I will go for airtel again, if I am moving anywhere else unless I have a very very bad experience.
Congratulations to you who are happy with airtel and my heart goes with those who have suffered. We are imperfect ourselves but expect perfection from everything else in an imperfect society.
Best,
