Airtel offers service of 4G in select Cities. Pune is one of them. I stay in Pune & thought of taking this service over subscribing to Vodafone 3G etc. Application was made to Airtel over their call centre.A revert call was received well within 3 Hours from Mumbai seeking appointment for Demo.
Two days past a gentleman turned up for Demo with an indoor box wifi. This gentleman was prompt enough to identify that my house did only receive 1 Signal out of 5 Hence it would be better if I opted for a outdoor Modem. He also insisted for a demo of outdoor modem he wanted a photograph & address proof which was promptly given.
Outdoor fellow came after two days & told me that my house was receiving speed of 5 MBPS which is not good. He also came on a day of planned electricity cut down. As a result I was reluctant for immediate installation. While he was leaving, I asked him whether it is possible
We get outdoor modem installed on roof. He told yes and I will come again to get this done. Subsequently no person came for two weeks despite continuous followups from myside.
Then I contacted some Team Leader level of person and he arranged for a demo. To my surprise the person did not come with outdoor modem and came with Indoor Modem. This person was able to find a place in my house which received 4 Signals out of maximum 5. I asked him to proceed for installation. He took my address proof & photograph and told that verification shall be done. Now three days have passed and verification is also done and am waiting for Airtel Representatives to turn up for connection.
It seems they are not interested in providing connections as my efforts to get connected with Airtel is now 20 days old. Hope someone reads/visits Mouthshut.and take action.
