When I wanted a new mobile connection I went to Planet M at Korum Mall, Thane and was offered an Aircel card because the prepaid card costed me a decent Rs. 11/- and would give me some free talk time etc. for a few months.
I submitted all the documents and was informed that the same will be deposited. The salesman also informed that they are made to pay a penalty of Rs. 100/- incase the documents are not submitted within a pre-specified time. Some days later got a call from Aircel's back office demanding documents.
As feared, my documents were probably not submitted by Planet M and I was forced to go to an aircel gallery and submit the documents again.
After submitting the documents twice my mobile number was cancelled because the gallery had not forwarded the documents in time.
Needless to say my documents or the forms that I had filled were not traceable and I am not sure what I need to do.
The fears are:
What if my documents are utilized to issue another mobile no. and I am held liable for any wrongdoing through that number.
Can any one guide me as to who is the right body to whom this needs to be reported to avoid any future liabilities.
