I own and live in a 4 BHK apartment in Bavdhan Khurd, which is the westernmost suburb of Pune city. Since I am single, I thought of renting out the extra bedrooms in my flat so that I get some side income and also get some company.
I have tried various approaches for this. Like, independently putting advertisements on various real estate portals etc. A few years ago, I came across AirBnB. I liked the concept of AirBnB very much. It is so much better than many other approaches for multiple reasons.
Firstly, you don’t have to invest in marketing or putting and renewing and paying for online ads on various real estate portals. Secondly, you don’t need a real estate agent and don’t need to do expensive rental agreements etc. Thirdly, you get a lot of flexibility in scheduling your calendar and availability, number of days etc. Also, due to brand name of AirBnB, you get better rental rates since it uses a smart algorithm to calculate rent depending upon locality, demand etc.
Furthermore, AirBnB is a very user-friendly web portal with a very intuitive and feature rich user interface. It takes care nicely of almost all the points that go into consideration while renting out a fully furnished property. AirBnB gives you lots of options and configuring the various settings like rent range, dates/availability, minimum staying period, maximum staying period, how many days in advance booking can be done, hours of check in and check out, besides many other points. I really appreciate the thought they put into the making of this wonderful, fabulous web portal. This should be a model for everyone to follow.
The best thing that I liked is that the property owner does not have to pay anything to AirBnB either in advance or during the stay or even after the stay of the guest! On other real estate portals, the owner has to buy a package of a few thousand rupees and wait for some tenant to show interest in your property, and then hope that some tenant takes your flat. In AirBnB, no need to go through all this. Just put your property details and directly welcome the guest and get the money paid into your bank account!
I am really fascinated and impressed by the business model and world-class standards of AirBnB. It is definitely a boon to property owners wanting to rent out their homes. I wish AirBnB the very best in their noble mission, and fully support them in their continued success and glory!
