Plane Condition : OK, Toilets starts to smell badly after 6 hrs and are not deodorized regularly.
Seat Comfort: The back support of the seats have some kind of cable that can be felt on your back while sitting. Leg Space is not very comfortable, I found Cathay Pacific to have better Leg Space.
Administration: Very Poor,
In Chicago O'Hare, customers get harassed at the boarding gate, when Air India staff performs a weight check of your hand bag again. Whether you are eating something or talking on phone, they are rude enough to invade your privacy at that point. Never seen an airline performing a weight check of hand baggage at the boarding gate as well. Damn Air India, you really gave me a hard time just for 2 Kgs of extra weight in my hand baggage, because I purchased some food/snack items after security check and put it in my bag to eat during the flight ??? What if my baggage was OK, but I personally weighed 2 Kgs more than my neighbor.. Is there a weight limit set for Passenger as well?.
Air India... start thinking with a human mind.
Phone support of Air India is not good, call any US based airlines and their customer service on phone is excellent, when calling Air India, they will not provide any information that might be important to you or ask you to dial a different number to get a response, when you dial that, they say call a different number... the loop never ends.
Extreme Caution: When I purchased my ticket from Chicago to Delhi, the flight was shown as Direct/ Non-Stop. After booking it and 2 weeks thereafter, I receive an e-mail from Air India, that they will be stopping at Frankfurt and now, a delay of 3 hrs was added to the schedule. I missed my connecting flight, although a re-booking and hotel was provided till my next connecting flight, but I did lose 1 complete day, for which you do not provide any compensation. So beware of booking direct flights with India, as they can provide misleading information on the web.
