It was the first experience for me to book the stay with Agoda, have heard of very good reviews about the site and customer care. On the contrary, the whole experience was very pathetic and not so customer friendly.
The resort seems so luxurious and lavish on the site. I was so happy to book it and had so much expectations as after Corona it was my first vacation. The location can be considered as good as it was at the Morjim beach but the approach road was so horrible. I was better off as I had Innova else I would not have reached there.
I had 3 rooms booked as I was travelling with my brother and his family in all 8 pax. The moment we reached there the horrendous experience started. The rooms were messy - totally unhygienic, webs, ants, insects were everywhere - be it a room or washroom.
Dining place was another wonderful experience - no proper cutlery, drinking water, glasses were stinking, plates were not clean and what not.
We were not happy at all, as in the family we had 2 asthmatic patients and 1 kidney patient, all of them highly prone to infections. We reached out to the property manager and told him about all this. Initially, he didn’t agree but when we showed him all the issues and lapses he said talk to Agoda Customer Care as it was an online booking he can’t cancel and give the refund.
There comes the worst experience with customer care. First of all, they were reciting the cancellation policy and all, that we can’t cancel the booking blah blah. After 10-15 minutes of discussions and telling them about the health concerns they asked us to share the pics. We clicked the pics and did that. Then they said we will negotiate with the property owners and revert.
After this whole drama, they started playing passing the buck to each other's court, property owner kept saying Agoda people are not cancelling the booking and if they do not refund how can we refund the money to you. Agoda replied that the property owner is not honouring the cancellation request and they are declining to issue refund. GOD knows who was lying.
With all this situation and 30k on the line, we had no other option but to stay there. We couldn’t search for another property at the 11th hour with 4 kids in the scorching heat. The fight of better breakfast continued to next 3 days. Stale paranthas, cut fruit or breads with bees sitting all over, reheat poha, Chole Bhature. In all very pathetic experience.
And the cherry on the cake, one glass was broken by a kid. Do you know how much they were charging for that glass? 300 Rs. It was my 4th trip to Goa, all with family and it was the worst experience ever.
I would not recommend to anyone going with family to Goa to stay at this resort. If you do not get anything but this resort please cancel your trip but do not stay here.
For Agoda site, heard better feedback about you but the very first experience was not good at all. Had better expectations from you.
